Redo Backup and Recovery - like 'Recuva' or 'EaseUS'

Hey,

can the Linux distro 'Redo Backup and Recovery' do the same type application like Recuva & EaseUs' - that it can be used to recover files/documents on drives that have 'gone missing' due to format errors or re-installing hard drives & then the external HD goes into RAW or similar, so scanning a drive that is unformatted or similar for files/documents- find files, then be able to recover them to another drive?
Does Redo Backup & Recovery have this ability? And if so- does it have good success?

Or maybe CD_Rescue?

Paul

Not really.

You can copy etc disk images, but if you deliberately destroy the file system you lose access to your files.
Sounds like you should refer to your backups.
Perhaps you are confusing Linux file systems with something like Windows?

What are you doing to disks that makes them turn into this RAW(?) mode?
If you re-format a disk, the data is (effectively) gone.

Testdisk and Photorec are typical apps to use to recover deleted files.

Raw mode might be corrected by ranish if it still works.

RedoBackup is a backup application like clonezilla.
