RedHat perfomance problem - help!

Hi.
Recentrly I've chanched Mandrake to RedHat and now I notice strange hard disk (?) related problem.
For example when I run "Enemy Territory" it goes very slow and my HDD light seeks very often.
What's wrong? Maybe RedHat use the memory in different way as Mandrake does?

Please help.

PS that is not NVidia related problem, I guess.... :-|

It says:
-cut-
/dev/hda:
multcount = 16 (on)
IO_support = 3 (32-bit w/sync)
unmaskirq = 0 (off)
using_dma = 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead = 8 (on)
geometry = 1662/255/63, sectors = 26712000, start = 0
-cut-

Just to make sure.
Redhat doesn't come with the Nvidia drivers while Mandrake does.
Have you download and installed the Nvidia drivers? And you must. If not u won't be able to run 3D games.

Of course. NVidia drivers has been installed without a problem.

Maybe RH give swap space for the game instead of giving free RAM?...

Or how can I check if the NVidia GLX libraries are in use and not default RH?

The RH9 kernel has known problems. I compiled a stock 2.4.20 kernel and responsiveness became noticeably better. Applying the latest kernel updates might help also.
