redhat partition problem
I'm currently trying to install redhat9.0 onto my HD, but I'm having problems. Whenever I try to create a new partition, it says "Could not allocate requested partitions. Partitioning failed. Could not allocate partitions as primary partitions." I have the the mount point to "/", the type to "ext3", the HD set to the only one avaliable, the disk size to 10gigs ect... ect... I'm sure it's not a problem with any of the options, because I've tried every combonation avaliable. It's a fairly new computer.
I'm trying to dual-boot redhat/windows. If possible, I'd rather not have to clear the HD, because I don't have the XP disks. |
hou much u size u used for windowsXP in 10 GB ... check for freespace available in HD before installation.....

Don't worry, I know the solution now.
There isn't one. Redhat doesn't have a partition program that will allow you to save the data on your partitions. I got redhat installed though, all I had to do was erase my HD. Who needs windows anyway? =) |
You may wish to take a look at Fedora, unless you have some reason for sticking with an older release, coz Redhat 9 is no longer a supported product from Redhat so you may find it difficult to get updates etc.
