RedHat Network doesn't upgrade all rpms

Hello!

I'm using RedHat 9 and have demo privileges through their network. I've been upgrading whenever there's been a notification. Something I've started to realize, however, is that I don't get upgrade notification for a lot of the software that I use (which came with the original distro!). For example, galeon and openoffice have been upgraded a number of times, but rhn has never told me. Why is this?

I've been learning how to "roll my own" rpms and have learned how to upgrade my favourite stuff on my own, but I was just wondering why RedHat only tells me about a few of the out-dated packages I have versus all of them.

This may have something to do with the Demo account. I am not sure

You can always try an alternative to Up2Date.

Thanks for the links, Mathieu. I usually use freshrpms... I'll take a look at the other ones, as well.

If anyone else knows if RedHat's "demo entitlement" limits upgrades to certain packages, please let me know. Otherwise, I guess I'll just keep relying on mailing lists and my own diligence to keep my software current. It would be nice, though, to have it automated...
