redhat kernel source....adónde?

im still a real newbie to linux, and i downloaded the drivers for my soundcard, an SB Audigy mp3+. Supposedly creative tells me that the emu10k1 drivers for sound blaster live will work, and they have made "experimental" mods to it or something.

I d/l the tarball, and tried to install, but the ./configure doesnt work (doesnt reference in the readme) and it cant find the source code for the kernel. im running RH 7.0, and i heard that the kernel source is not installed by default.

i tried installing the kernel rpm from the source cd, but all it did was install 20 megs of files to Lord knows where. its not in /usr/src/linux like it should be, and i have no idea where they coudl have gone. how do i install the source properly and make my drivers work? (argh. i hate redhat...its all i could get...honest. > )

thanks so much!!

redhat 7.0 came with a broken compiler.. probably the reason you can't run the ./configure ..etc..

yeah, the src for the kernel should be in /usr/src/linux and in redhat should be followed by a version number.. might also be /usr/src/linux-version.x.x.x etc..

a new compiler, try rpmfind.net and search for compiler.. or gcc.. for a new one in rpm format.
