redhat enterprise linux kernel compilation

I am using Redhat Enterprise Linux 6.2,
# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.2 (Santiago)
I installed Basic Server. However there is no kernel source available at /usr/src/kernel/

I want to modify the kernel config file to add some support in kernel and recompile that. how can i do that?

Install your kernel sources using Yum, or the Add/Remove Software applet.

Usual warning:
Unless you have good reasons to do that, it is preferred to avoid using custom kernels. Many parameters can be set at runtime using the /proc and /sys virtual directories and many more can be done using modules rather than compiling a new kernel. Compiling a new kernel may cause closed source driver issues if you are using some. Be sure compiling a custom kernel is the only way to achieve your goal.

actually i am running IPV6 test suit to test ipv6 compatibility for this kernel, and i am getting ICMP parameter problem and few of the test cases are failing, so i want to enable ipv6 to ipv4 tunnel and other XFRM configuration for IPV6
