Redhat Enterprise Linux 6- Help
 
Hi All,

I'm trying to use RHEL 6.1 for the 1st time. When i completed my Installation and got rebooted, Its asking for localhost login ? Can Anyone help me on this ? Its not root or anything

it's root as username and the password you put during the install

is cap-lock on ?
the bios can set it
you might be typing in
ROOT
then the password

if the server and you are not going to pay the $349 or $1,299 you will be better off with installing

If you don't remember the user names/passwords you entered when you built the system, there's not much you can do. You can boot from CD/DVD, enter rescue mode, and edit the /etc/shadow file to remove the password, then set it when you get logged in, or you can do a reinstall.

And since you're using RHEL, you really should be PAYING FOR IT. If you do NOT pay for it, you won't get support/patches/updates/bugfixes, and won't be able to access the online repositories. As JohnVV said, load CentOS if you NEED RHEL or it's equivalent, or pay for RHEL.
