Redhat DNS Server
 

Email server is not working and also website cannot browse. I don't know what is wrong with dns server which is running on Redhat linux.

I have type the commend like this

/etc/rc.d/init.d/named restart

It shows

Stopping named:
named: already running

but I still have the problem. Would you please answer me. thanks.

Welcome to LQ. Can you access by IP? What makes you think it's DNS? a little more info might help us help you.

I cannot browse web site, cannot send mail and don't receive mail. How should I check it?

What I mean is can you access it by the IP address? First thing I would try is ping the IP.

It shows like that

Nameserver : 203.120.209.199
Address : 203.120.209.199#53

or show me how should I check first as I'm not familiar with it.

use the command ping? e.g. ping 123.123.123.123

[root@dns root]#ping 203.120.209.199
