Redhat Config Network

I am using dial up 56K modem but actually phone line is 28.8k.
The dial up modem hardware called is Encore, data, voice, fax modem.

Then I enter Network Config Tool or Internet Wizard to enter device for provider dial up.
After finish create device for provider then press Activate button, this is what I get result.

Cannot activate network device RTTINCPonoka
modem Use modem control lines
MRU <n> set mru value to <n> for negotiation
see pppd(8) for more options

On hardware, it reading,
Type Device Status
Generic modem modem modem modem0 configured

Please help on what need to setting. I am new newbie.
Do modem is compliant to RedHat hardware listing. I couldn't find modem showing all of list instead some modem show. When I press Generic modem listing, the link is bad error page. So I do not get idea of if Encore is compliant or not. What about Intel, or US Robotic modem?
