Redhat 9 hard disk crash

I had Redhat 9 on my system working very fine for 1 year now, and suddenly the dard disk crashed. Am not able to boot the system. It says 'Kernel panic try passing init= kernel option' and the system halts.

I have important data on the disc viz. quiet a few mysql tables with very important data and several php scripts in /var/www/html folder. In any case I want them back.

I tried installing Redhat 9 once again on a new hard disk and tried connecting the crashed one as secondary.

At this time the system boots only mounting the /dev/hda5 ie root and nothing else is seen.

Unable to access the data on crashed disk.

Please help me, otherwise it is a terrible loss for me.

Regards and thanks in advance who try to pull me out of the crisis

Use a live distro and see if you can detect the partition. Try the disk in a different computer; the controller output being used might be bad. Check the cables.

Also, don't use RH9, it is an ancient distro that no longer has support for security patches. You could upgrade to Fedora or Centos. The later is a RHEL clone.
