Redhat 9 and Mozilla problem
I'm a newbie and have just installed Redhat 9 with Mozilla that installed with it. I was trying to install the new KDE but when I go to any download link nothing happens. Is this a common problem with Mozilla? It allowed me to update through the Redhat network but I'm really confused as to why I cannot download. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Faustus,
and welcome to LQ! :)
Never heard of that one before ...
Maybe you have some control-key
stuck and Mozilla interprets the click
differently (not at all)...
Cheers,

Hey Tinkster thanks for the help. I sort of figured that it was a browser problem because Galleon was working without a problem. I downloaded the newest version of Mozilla and installed and all seems to work well. I know I will get burned at the stake foir saying this but the hardest part for me about the install was reconfiguring the old icon. UGHHHHH!!!!
Thanks for the help. I am sure I will be on these forums a ton.
I understand I need to use something called Samba in order for my XP machine to view my REDHAT machine. Where do I go to configure that? Where is Samba in KDE? I configured my printer through CUPS and can view my XP machine from my Linux machine fine.

i've had somilar problems, usually within java panels, but sometimes i can't follow the link.
within java i haven't figured it out (or tried really hard)
html link, right click/save link target as.. sometimes works.
i have fewer problems using netscape7 instead of open source mozilla.
one site (unfourtunately my online banking) i have to use Opera.
Netscape installs well on RH9, takes a little work to straighten out the pluggins, but i've gotten good at it you try.
unless it happens all the time, then you've got a defferent problem

in rh9 there is a "network servers" in your gnome/kde menu.
i like this grahpical interface for network viewing, kinda like in windows...(booing in the background).
and menu/system settings/server settings has some gui utils for smb and nfs.
hope that starts you off. (you might want to learn how to use these from the command line too. that's to know for advanced config)

These things are usually distro dependent...
However, if RH runs SWAT by default (it's a
configuration tool that comes with SaMBa)
you should be able to set the box up from
http://localhost:901

Tink
