Redhat 9 and Java

So I'm pretty new to Linux... I have messed with it a bit before, but I am still pretty lost with everything.

So I decided to install Java, so I could use Java applets on the net... I followed the instructions on the Java site to a T and it won't work. I am using Mozilla 1.2.1...

Is Java not compatible with this version or what? Help??

Thanks!

You should **seriously** consider upgrading...the latest version is 1.7.8.
