Angry RedHat 8.0 Hangs after logging in

I need some help! I have installed RedHat 8.0 and the problem that I am experiencing is that Linux hangs right after entering my user name and password. I have reinstalled Linux and get the same problem every time. Does anybody have some help to offer???

Try logging into a different Window Manager (GNOME, KDE, IceWM, WindowMaker, etc.) and see whether this has any effect. Try logging in as root as well.

Thanks for the info. I tried to log in as root as well as a user account in both Gnome and KDE. It still hangs. It will accept the user name and password, but no desktop will come up. Do you have any more suggestions as to what to try?

Can you get to a command-line using
ctrl+alt+F2
