Angry RedHat 7.2 Crash

After a couple of hours trying to configure Rh the screen froze. After alt ctrl del I received a message that it was ok to shut down. Now I can not boot in to Rh. I have attempted to go in as root and use 'startx' to no avail. I tried using the rescue mode with the cd also to no avail. The following errors are what I get when I hit startx: 95 Get_local_host: hostname 'Earthlink' bad
/dev/mouse/:no such device
failed to initiate core devices
X10:fatal I0 error 104 (connection reset by peer) on Xserver ":0.0" after 0 request (0 known processes) with 0 events remaining
There were some codes but I thought this might be enough to get some help so I can back to just the basic headache of trying to figure out how to run linux...Any help is appreciated. thanks
