I cant install files with the extensions .bin or .tar.gz. I would really like to know what i can D/L to fix it.. i already have Konqueror to deal with RPM files, but i want to use AMSN, but it is a .bin. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

.tar.gz files are compressed. Do tar -xzvf <packagename>.tar.gz to uncompress and then cd into the directory and read the INSTALL files for installation instructions.

This thread is good for instructions on installing different files.
