red hat installation question???

Hi,
I'm new to this and am ready to try installing red hat 9 on my ibm thinkpad a21e laptop. It will be a dual boot pc where windows 2000 is already installed. I still need to resize the windows partition, which currently takes up the entire 20 GB hard drive, to create a partition for red hat. I've read the parted instructions for resizing which seem pretty straight forward. My present concern is the note that on some older computers linux can not boot if it's boot partition is not within the first 528MB. Currently, there is 2.3 GB of used space with windows 2000 and around 18 GB of free space. I was planning on resizing the windows partition to 10 GB and having the other 10 GB for red hat. If I do this resizing, does anyone know if I will be able to properly install and boot red hat. This again is an ibm a21e thinkpad, with an x86 700mhz cel processor, and 128 mb of ram. I'm not sure how old of a computer that boot warning applies to. This is probobly a very basic question, but I'd appreciate anyone's response. Thanks.
Adam

that refers to older bios's. It was a problem because older bioes would look for the bootable partitions in the first 528 megs. You should have no problem at all.

thanks for responding. I thought it would be all right, but I wasn't sure.
