Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Alternatives
I decided to write an article about Red Hat, Centos and Scientific Linux. What they are, the differences and where to get them.
http://boardstretcher.github.io/blog...-alternatives/ Feel free to link to it or quote it, or ignore it. Its on Github so there is no advertising, and no tracking. Just something I'm proud of and I wanted to share with our community! Hopefully its useful. |
Yo!
Quick n direct read, ideal for decision makers that really need info on one page, two at most... Maybe a nice "to add" would be the licencing model. Maybe you could expand with a comparison table... Thanks for sharing :) Thor |

one of the BIG differences with
RHEL VS CentOS is the support redhat -- 10 year support with security backports to older versions CentOS 7 year support ( HOWEVER!!!! cent ONLY supports the CURRENT version ) and right now 5.10 and 6.5 and 7.0 are the ONLY supported versions Scientific linux 7 year support BUT WITH backports to older versions like RHEL dose so SL 6.3,6.4 and 6.5 ARE SUPPORTED SL also has a repo LIMITATION !!!! not all the cent third party repos are compatible sl has MORE problems with this than cent has |
