Exclamation Red Hat 9 does not detect Realtek ALC882 sound card

I have installed Linux Red Hat 9 and it doesn't detect my sound card.
Does anyone know any site I can go to to install the definition for RealTek ALC882 sound card?
Or at least tell me anything to do so I can fix this issue.

I'm also having a problem with my screen ViewSonic VA703m or maybe my video card (Intel VGA (865/915/945) driver), If I changed the resolution from 800*600 to 1024*768, the screen will go of and will say "Out of Range)...

Can anyone tell me how to solve these problems?

Not certain if it will help, but you're better off using a new, supported distro. Red Hat 9 has been unsupported for several years now.

Support for RH9 was dropped in 2003. There have been no updates since then. Since your hardware appears to be relatively recent (much newer than RH9) I am not surprised you are having issues. In fact I am surprised you got it to boot at all. After RH9 RedHat split into two main versions RHEL(Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Fedora Core (just Fedora after FC6). Fedora is the development/community branch and is free to download/upgrade(stability can be iffy at times). RHEL is a subscription based ($) and requires a subscription to access their repos. However, Centos is a RHEL clone that is free to download/update and is made from the same source. Fedora will release F11 in about a month. RHEL 5.3 is current and Centos5.3 is scheduled to be released this weekend.

Thank you very much, I'm now downloading Fedora Core 10.

Is Fedora Core 10 good?

It all depends on your needs. The short life, each version is only supported for 13months, became an issue on my servers, so I switched them all to Centos5.X(when support was dropped for FC5). I continued to run Fedora on my desktops until the release of F10(mostly on F8). There were a lot of bugs that were introduced in F7(F7 was a MAJOR step forward) that were not cleared up by F10 which effected me, so I just switched everything to Centos 5.X. RH is very aware of the issue (RHEL6 was originally scheduled to be based on F9 but has been pushed back to F11) and has hired more programmers than ever before to work on Fedora, to clean up the bugs. The nature of these bugs is generally more PITA rather than complete failures (DVD verification has been broken since the post .23 kernels, etc). Many find these bugs to be unimportant, I am just not one of them.
