Red Hat 9 Bible worth $50?

Simple Poll for anyone that has a opinion about the subject. I am a newbee wanting to learn linux as fluently as I know windows. Is the Red Hat 9 Bible worth the $50 list price? Is it good for someone wanting to learn how to administer Linux in a company or small bussness? Basicly, Is The Red Hat 9 Bible's contents worth $50 for a newbee, or are there forums, webpages, or other books that are better? Please leave your opinion if you can, Thanks.

Yeah i am using debian now but i was using redhat 9 for a little bit and bought it. The book is easy to follow plus it comes with extra apps i belive. It is worth the 50 bucks in my opinion.

I have the RH7.3 bible and still use it even though I am running RH9.0. Yes it is worth it, especially if you will be sticking with RH for awhile.

I bought the 7.2 Bible... I found it close to useless. The web has the info that you need, not the book. Any time I wanted to find something out, I looked in the book and failed to find anything. It does have some worth, but not $50. Pretty much I used it to learn how to install software, and install the OS.

I remember buying a "Guide to Linux". What a waste of money. 95% of this book was walking me around the GUI. I wanted to learn the commands and how to execute thngs via the command line, this book wouldn't tell me.

That and don't get a book for a specific distro.

IMHO, everything you could ever need is available free online, between this site, tldp.org, and the hundreds of other Linux sites...

but if you would like to have a paper book, I'd suggest purchasing the Rute User's Tutorial - it's an excellent reference, and Mr. Sheer has been good enough to make it freely available in electronic form:
