Red Hat 3.0 Enterprise kernel panic: no init found. try pasing init= option to kernel
I had power failure (environment, not cable unblugged) and my Red Hat 3.0 Enterprise machine is having problems with the partitions. I wasn't around and someone restarted the machine, now I don't have the console recovery no more. It had console recovery, and I could of run fsck or something, but now I don't have the command line anymore. Is there a way that I can rebuild the kernel or repair the partitions ? The person that was in charge, said the errors was with ext3 error, not readable, or something like that. Now when I sart up the machine it tells me this: kernel panic: no init found. try pasing init= option to kernel but it dosen't give me command prompt line. I do have the originals CD's but I don't have a clue, what can I do with them except reinstall :P
I ran the first cd and it promts the installation, and I don't want that, I want a recovery, or command prompt root, or something.
Tomorrow I'll have some LIVE CD's with linux, I hope I will be able to boot and see the linux partitions. It would be very helpfull if you guy can give me some recovery command, or anything like that, or some ideea, some clues, what can I do.
