Recovering windows xp after installing MANDRIVA LINUX
 
Dear ALL,

Im very new to LINUX. Sick n tired of windows thats y wanna switch over now. Im an IT Manager at a local company.

I installed mandriva and since then my windows simply doesnot boot. Everytime i restart my pc it takes me to the option to open LINUX, but windows xp seems to have been lost. Can anyone of you help me in detail, as to how cud i recover my windows xp and that i could somehow avoid reinstallation of both windows and mandriva.

hmm,
you should have a windows boot option I'd of thought.

Are you sure you didn't select "use whole disk" or something?

do fdisk -l and see what partitions you have listed.

Assuming you didn't overwrite the Xp partition it's simply a matter of editing the boot loader config file. Are you using GRUB or Lilo?
