This is actually two questions.
We recently acquired a turntable with which we hope to convert vinyl records to MP 3 files and burn to cd.
Now we've converted to linux, and I wonder how to do this...
AND
I've tried to add the URLs of some of my favorite radio stations to the player, but I've received an error message indicating that the player does not have the proper codec.
I'm somewhat surprised at this, because I can stream the same stations witn no trouble, by going to their URLs and streaming them directly from there.
Since there are hundreds of Linux distributions, it would be helpful if you indicated which distribution of Linux you are using. Also, there are multiple music players so which are you trying to use?
For the turntable you have to get it to work somehow but after that, I might be inclined to use Audacity. Reason is, it has a way to remove noise. You can take a sample of the needle noise and then try to clean up the recording. Also you might be able to cut and paste some bad spots out.
Thanks Jefro..
Can i use apt-get install audacity to get the latest version of audacity?
Corvette won le mans? Good for them. I saw a youtube of an awful accident there early in the race.
I understand that the driver survived without serious injury.
Many years ago...I raced motorcycles...just to indicate how many ...I flat tracked a BSA...
go figure
depending on this turntable
some of the new ( yes there is a come back ) are usb
or
like me i have a very nice ( few thousand $$$ system from 1980's)
you will need to make ( yes pull out the soldering iron ) and make a stereo 1/4 in jack to 1/16 in mini. jack
connect the headphone out to the audio in on the sound card
or
if a new sound system hdmi port to port
as for recording use Audacity it is in the repos of basically all distros .
