recording audio from computer's sound card

I've been trying to record (or ripping) internet radio streams but there are some stations that don't provide the url for streming ( like plugins) and I was thinking if I recorded directly from the computer's sound card ,is there a way to do so? is it posible?

Record what comes out of your speakers
I use "that" on Grooveshark personally.

Let me know if you need something else.

Hi,

if you have problems with pulse audio solution from Habitual, AFAIK you should be able to do this with jack (but I've not actually done this myself). See http://jackaudio.org/ and I think it is packaged as jackd2 on Ubuntu.

HTH,

Evo2.

Thank you so much, the solution is working great from the very first time, easily understandable and executable for a newbie with little experience ,the only thing i didn't know was how & where to write a shell scrypt, but doing a little research again in this site, i found the answer in Machtelt Garrels
Bash Guide for Beginners http://tille.garrels.be/training/tldp/
