Record Streams with Audacity, Kubuntu 10.04 LTS

Toshiba, Celeron, 64bit, Kubuntu 10.04 LTS

I am trying desperately to get Audacity to record webcast streams. Neither the Audacity nor the Kubuntu Community have sufficient answers.

Can someone help me get Audacity configured for recording web streams?
(I intend to plany the streams via Amarok, unless there is a suggestion for a better stream player or recorder....

Thank you

Which version of Audacity are you using? Try the 1.3.12 beta version. I've used that on a Windows laptop to record internet streams. Its been a while since I've used audacity on a linux box to record streams. I usually use lame piped through sox or vlc.

Audacity 1.3.12

If anyone has a better method of recording webcast streams, please let me know!

Wow ... bumping a post after 28 minutes? Paying big bucks
for support around here?

And after the sarcasm: please do not bump your posts before
24 hours have passed - this is -while unwritten- a common
rule around here.

Cheers,
Tink
