Recompile the kernel.

Where do I go to recompile the kernel?

It can depend on the distro and version you are running as to whether it may already be on your machine as far as the kernel source or you may have to install the it from the cd or off the distros website. Posting info on the distro and machine can help answer the question better. Fill out your sig on the site and give details about system.

What do you need to resolve as well if help is needed in that area?

Not a ubuntu user so not sure what is installed during the install process. Now the kernel source is normally in /usr/src/<kernel_version_directory>. See if there is a directory in /usr/src with the version of kernle you are using. If not then check the cd for the kernel source file.
