Recompile Kernel in Redhat 8.0
I have been searching for documentation on the steps required to recompile a kernel in redhat 8.0. I haven't been able to find any detailed documentation that tells me the steps and the purpose of each step. If anyone can help me with this it will be much appreciated.

look no further :D
hers my tutorial that i posted at LQ.org http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...355#post379355 it doesn't get any simpler than that |
and just remember, as this seems like this is the first time you are going to be attempting this, that if you are recompiling the kernel that you are currently using, that its quite possible that the source is already there, so just navigate to the /usr/src directory and check that out instead of downloading, as its already on your distros cd's anyways if its not there...
but you will have to complete these steps if you are going to compile a different kernel. |
Thanks
Exactly what I was looking for. I am going to attempt a recompile now.
