I am on Windows right now so I can use Firefox.
I downloaded Firefox for Linux, but the install instructions were too complicated for my tiny mind, I guess.
Is there a step by step for know nothings? Most material for reading that I find assumes at least a very basic understanding of the subject matter, but I do not have that beginning knowledge or terminology.
So much for reserving my questions until later!
I want to patiently assimilate all Linux information instantaneously. But, I will settle for one question at a time. For instance, the manual I am reading is huge (ruteLinuxGuide). Is there a condensed version?
If getting Firefox for my Linux is too hard for me now, what about addons for konqueror?
Am I asking too many questions?
Is there any Windows software that will help my transition into Linux?
Big question: Is there a Linux server that will operate inside Windows, so I can begin minor hands-on server work? This is the goal, after all: Server stuff for the family business, since my brother just does not have the time to do it himself, or the money to pay someone else to do it for him (I already cost too much for a new business).

I burnt a Linux distru onto cd-r, changed my BIOS to boot from cd drive, rebooted with the cd in several times, and only loaded Windows. Do I burn it as a computer read disc, or a flash drive type?

I am about to go do the download according to your instructions. This could take me weeks........

It would be beneficial for you if you searched the LQ forums first and then if you couldn't find your answers , create a new thread in a appropriate forum. |
