Receiving kermit files with minicom

I am currently using Intrepid. I do a lot of remote programming of telephone systems. Some of them I need to use kermit to download a back-up file of the system.

I have been able to connect to the phone systems using minicom and go through the steps up to where it tells me to return to my local kermit session. At that point I have tried to do the R for receive file but if I have changed the file path it tells me that it can't change directory or if there is nothing in the file path (which I assume is the default path) then it just doesn't work and the telephone system eventually aborts the transfer.

I think I read somewhere that the protocol for kermit transfers is stored in another file that needs to be accessed if initiating a kermit transfer, but not sure where that needs to be.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi -

I believe you need to:

1. Install kermit
2. Configure Minicom to use Kermit

'Hope that helps .. PSM
