RealPlayer - Lagging / Not Responding?

Hi all.

A problem occured when RealPlayer is used. Playback of video and mp3 files seems lagging and sometimes it appears to be non-responding.

RealPlayer 10.0.1.450 (gold) is installed on SUSE 9.2 Professional. Same problem goes to previous Fedora Core system.

Your help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.

PS: Please forgive me if similar questions have been asked. Just didn't manage to find out among 200 matches.

Lightbulb For SuSE users

Please read here ...

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...5&pagenumber=2

After done that you should be able to watch .rm .ram ... inside MPLAYER - XINE

Advanced :
and even goto a console .. and

copy link location out of your browser (sometimes page source)

wget "thatadress"

less "that file"

copy the link name out of it ...

and then
mplayer --dumpstream rtsp:// ....

will give you a stream.dump file --- rename that to "something else".rm

watch in xine or mplayer

Thanks guys for the advice.

I have tried installing MPlayer on FC4 Test but failed. It required user to upgrade/downgrade their GCC. So my questions are...

(1) Is there any other way to play RealMedia files in other players such as Totem and Kaffeine?
(2) Could anyone suggest a codec package in order to play RealMedia in aforementioned players?

Thanks in advance!

PS: FC4 + newbie, situation over here.
