Real Player and Winamp installs for Fedora Core2

Hello again,

Now that I have gotten Firefox set up in Fedora Core2 I would like to get some streaming audio.

I regularly listen to Pacifica radio on the net. The news programs there load both Real Player and Winamp, depending on the program selected.

There is a Real Player available for Linux now (as I've read today)
and I'm working on rounding up the materials from xine and cambuca.

So what about Winamp? If my news show is looking for Winamp,
how does it find that player? And what to those folks who use
Windows Media Player do when they migrate over here?

TIA,

You could try copying the URL and loading it in xmms, a winamp clone. You could also try mplayer (which I would recommend as a general-purpose media player). If you need a browser plugin, mplayerplugin might do the trick.

What do you mean hungdc? Are you having trouble invoking real player in a webpage or are you playing songs stored locally?
