How do you link it to Netscape for when you want to view a video clips from the likes of NFL.com. It appears that the file must be downloaded then played. How do you get Netscape to call real player to view the clip without downloading?
Also, how do I make an icon on my desktop for Netscape. I can only launch it when I go to the directory where it's stored and I get to that from an xterm window. Any help would be appreciated.
Distribution: Currently Suse 11.1 but have RH7,8,9 / Fedora 7,8_64,9_64,&10_64

Rep:
RealPlayer8-plugin-8.0.3.412-6.i386.rpm
get this
su to root in the directory that u downloaded it to
# rpm -ivh RealPlayer8-plugin-8.0.3.412-6.i386.rpm
this will result in a file " rpnp.so " in your current directory
copy this to your mozilla/netscape plugins directory
will work then
for my netscape icon
I opened the file manager konqueror
went to the executable for netscape
dragged it to the desktop
when it asked if I wanted to move, link,or copy to this location I chose link
note:
if you change the icon under mime type to the one that looks like the netscape icon ( as I did ) it will change all icons of that type on your entire system
which could cause problems with your system
I've had no problems with mine
but browsing thru my directories is alot more color full
My brain must be fried! If I'm not mistaken, if you copy a file from one directory to another, don't you have do change the name of the file? Will that have an effect on it working?
