reading text files
hi i use gutsy.whenever i copy some commands or notes from net, save them in a document and try to read them later,i cannot open them.it reads
this file is executable file.do u want to display contents open in terminal cancel display. |
Display contents means just that, you can read it.
Sounds like you're not saving them in the correct format or with the wrong permissions. |
It would help if you posted exact error messages and the way in which you're actually trying to open the files.

Yes, it's a file permission problem. If you right-click the file and look at permissions, you should see that "execute as program" is checked. Uncheck it and it will work. If you need to do this for a batch of files, you can use chmod a-x *
