Reading multisession dvd

I've just changed from Windows XP to Ubuntu 7.04. Before the change I made a backup of my documents etc. on a DVD burned by Nero as a multisession DVD. But when I put the DVD in my drive under Ubuntu, it says that the DVD is empty. How do I make Ubuntu read a multisession DVD.

There should be no difference in reading a not multisession dvd.

So maybe your dvd-drive can't read multisession dvds? Try reading the dvd through your dvd-burner.

Multisession DVD

No, thats not the problem. I can read it from Windows XP. And it is a laptop, so it only have a DVD-burner.

Can it be because the DVD wasn't closed in the burning. And how do I do that now from Linux?
