Reading/Modifying .rcc file (believe to be ELF)

Hi, I posted a similar question in another forum looking for software, but this is probably more appropriate since I know near nothing of Linux.

I have a file which I believe now to be a Linux executable written in ELF. That sentence could be totally wrong but here is the first line of code from a file named "about.rcc"

Code:

ELF            äº4  T{#    4   ( % "   4  4€4€           4  44                € €ÚÚ ÚÚ           à  `         `          Ø          xä xd        xd        ð  ð        H  HH            Påtd6 ¶¶Ü  Ü      Qåtd                        /lib/ld-linux.so.2        GNU          ƒ  ¾  .          l  z      ’              œ  ?  \  ²    +  ¦  {  J  p  e  ]  N          Œ  1  µ              7  w  -  W  ·                š      E    !  I  £  ¨  Ÿ    ®  ½          »  F  _        ¼  _      n          ¡        ‘  °  ^  ¤      «  G  R  i      h  ¬        C  o  ™  8  c      ˜  ª        ¢          „  ž  ¯    º  ©  –  |  ±    “  †      Ž  ¸  ‹  x            K    ´  t      ‡  v  Y  0  —  u  ‰  ¶  Š
Honestly, I have no idea what this is. Further down in the code I can find some MySql commands, the very first word(ELF) is what I started searching on and found it as Executable Linking Format. If it helps, the server uses RedHat.

I am trying to help someone update their website, but when I got access to it, I realized I don't know what this is.(I do HTML, XHTML, CSS, customize PHP/MySql)

If someone could tell me a way which I could actually see the code(some sort of editor), I believe that will give me a good enough start.

Thanks

Chris

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

If you believe that the post would have been better of in a different
forum just report it and ask a mod to move it there. We're happy to
assist you with that.

Cheers,
Tink
