Reading Mail

I've just built my RH9 Server without a graphical interface. Looking good so far!
However when I boot the Server and logon as root, it says I have new mail. How can I view this mail in text mode without a graphical client installed and configured?

[edit] oops it is 'mail', I got too used to pine. (forgot that it has to be setup to work) thanks LogicG8

do not login as root, edit /etc/sudoers file and add your account there. so you can execute root commands when you need to.
