Read these two books together to learn Operating System. Is that helpful?
Actually,I am a newbie,a student in university in China.Last term,I have read a fundmental book about Red Hat linux. After that I have learned many basic operation .Then I want to learn more about Linux.I hope I can develop sofeware under Linux ,because I like the linux philosophy ,such as simplification, concentricity and open.
Now,this term we set up a curriculum named operating system, and we use William Stallings's book(Operating System Internals and Design Principles).its language is english ,and I can understand a portion of this book through my slow reading speed. I borrow a book from library called Beginning Linux Programming (Neil Matthew / Richard Stones ).I want to know if I read these two books in this term, is that helpful?I think the operating system is too abstract, how can I use linux to help me to learn and understand operating system well.Thanks. (My English is not very skilled,so this passage may not very fluently,I'm sorry...) |
