Read-only filesystem error

Hi all
Something is wrong with an audacity package (I think) ive downloaded from synaptic...android-data always returns an error saying that I have unmet dependencies. So I try to remove it and download the dependencies mentioned and I cant remove it! It ends up putting my pc in read-only and I have to reboot and run fsck in maintanence mode and reboot again, run dpkg --configure -a and try again. Any help would be appreciated,I'm running kali.
Code:
dpkg --configure -a
dpkg: error: unable to access dpkg status area: Read-only file system

That sounds like your storage device is malfunctioning. Make backups and test that device for errors.

kalilover... android-data? what distro are you running?
and why don't you just install audacity from synaptic instead of downloading it first?
