rc.local problem

I use RedHat9

I have wrote a script (endless cycle ) and I put it in etc/rc.d/rc.local.
After that I restarted linux. Now the monitor is black and the script is running, but I don't know how to switch into the x-windows mode or into the console mode?
I have tired Ctrl-Alt-F7 and Ctrl-Alt-F2 but nothing.
I don't know how to stop the script?

Are there any hotkey not to running rc.local when linux restarts?

Can somebody help me?

Try crtl-c(not sure), or try to remove that entry through single user mode or through rescue mode.

Ctrl-c is not working. I can't exit from the script, so I can't switch in the single user mode.
What is a rescue mode?

No u can enter single user mod from the boot loader itself. But rescue mode is different, means boot system from linux first cd ,and do the needful maintanence operations.
