Rather strange crashes with xubuntu

I have the newest version of xubuntu 10.04 and I finally got it working again.

But I have one little issue that I just cant quite put my finger on.

When watching youtube videos 1/6th of the time my PC will have a melt down of sorts.

The keyboard Num lock, Caps lock, and Scroll lock keys keep flashing on and off, my monitor goes black, and my PC makes a very unpleasant beeping noise.

Every time this happens I have to hold the button in to turn off the PC.

Is this something fixable? Should I have my hardware checked?

Hya,

Could it be a heat problem?

Originally that was my first guess.

So I used a CPU testing program and nothing unusual happened.

The video card practically produces NO heat.

This problem only seems to happen when playing youtube videos because videos from other locations seem to play fine without any issues.

I though it was a problem with the flash player or perhaps firefox but I can't be sure.

It has never happened before so no.

As it turns out its NOT just from viewing youtube videos. I just had it crash a good 10 minutes ago out of the blue while I was reading my mail.

I was thinking though, could it be that my RAM modules are going bad?

Just in case though I opened up my computer case to try to cool things down a bit.

So far (Been like 5 minutes) no problems but I am not sure.. :-/

I'm thinking (like you are),it could be bad ram as this will cause random crashes or maybe it is even power supply problems.
