I run my RPi4 in a modded RPi3 case with one side off, where the power & video are, & have it stood on it's other side, stays cool for long periods, (several hours), when I use it.
I have one running in the original closed case with a heatsink on the CPU and under really light load it stays at 72 C.
Phhht !!!
I just resurrected an old (*old*) laptop and tried out bodhi on it - you want hot; how about 6280.0C !!!!. As reported by inxi - might need to keep an eye on that ... at least the GPU is only reporting 61.0.
Have two raspi4's and they work well. Please DO take care of the cooling, you really need to put a heat sink on the CPU on the rasp4. I have one running in the original closed case with a heatsink on the CPU and under really light load it stays at 72 C.
Have you tried updating your firmware? The overheating issue was supposed to be fixed in November 2019
