RaQ 2 & RaQ 4 Help No Clue...
 

The other day i was given a mess of server equipment that is OLD but I see people are still using them.

I have a RaQ2 & RaQ4, com3 linkswitch 1000, x2 cisco 2501 with some kind of cards in the back, x2 Bay Netowrks Advance Remote Node, x3 Prelude T1 DSU/CSU Boxes and a few switches and hubs plus enough wire and cables to go around the world it seems. Also a small rack.

I can build gaming computers and things all day long but when it comes to servers and things I am just clueless but I want to learn this and how it all works and such.

From what little I can tell the old computers that came with all this were running windows NT 4.0 but I can not get pass the admin password when it boots up which only happens 1 in 3 or so times from all the error messages. Whoever had this up and running was what looks like to be a huge porn server for pay sites. The RaQ4 when it come on all I get is "cobalt networks then says loading Kernel" nothing more. The RaQ2 takes about 15 minutes to come up but then its gives me a coldbat1. berenter plus some kind of ip address which I was warned by someone that it is a static address becareful ???

I have searched the net for questions and answers and still feel as lost as I did or even more lost now.

Is there anyone out there that can help or tell me where to go for help on this ???? HELP PLEASE I NEED SOME SLEEP

RAQs ran a modified Red Hat version with a web hosting front end for virtual hosts.
(I ran an RAQ3 and then "upgraded" to an RAQ4 back in '99/2000)
