Ram wiht suse, cache Disk cache???

Hello,
I have 512 mb Ram,
I installed Suse in my pc, when I run Memory program I see that only 10 mb of Ram are free?
And that Disk cache takes 52% of my Ram?Disk Buffers takes 12%? What Disk cache do with all this memory, and why only 10 mb of Ram are Free??
Thanks to all.

Linux kernel only keeps a small amount of RAM free for if it's needed and then will free some more when it's needed. It works faster to hold stuff in the cache rather than to discard it and reread it again later from disk. The idea is that free unused RAM is a waste.
