I am still a to Linux and it just seems to me that it is running slow... I have 512 RAM and I just dont know why it would take so long to do anything. Does anyone have any ideas, Or know something I could do to speed linux up...

Well, you know that... it's impossible to say why it's slow with the info you are giving don't ya?. Processor model and speed, distribution, amount of swap, graphical interface you are using (gnome, kde...) graphics card (it may influence immensely into your graphic-speed performance), what applications are you trying to run that are slow? (OpenOffice is extremely slow even in a 2ghz). Well, you got the idea

Also find out what processes and services are already running, maybe a few you can eliminate to free up resources, etc.

Some commands to see your processes.

ps -aux
