RAID0 Ubuntu install, help needed
Well, I'm a total linux n00b:
Got fed up with WinXP and wanted to switch completly to linux.
Downloaded the Ubuntu AMD64 installation DVD and tried loading it up:
How do I install Ubuntu on a RAID0 array?
I have 2 SATA 160s on an onboard VIA RAID controller (ASUS K8SE Deluxe or something)
When I try to install from the liveCD that loaded up I get a choice of two drives, ???
The BIOS is set to RAID0, but I heard that I should leave it as two seperate drives and use Linux softwareRAID to set it up ???
How do I do that? What partitions do I need? (I'm a linux n00b so I don't even know how to get admin right in the terminal, LOL)
Do I need to go through the command line intall?
Could somebody direct me to a solution.
All I want is the simplest RAID0 intallation possible for a linux only desktop.
I know RAID0 is not safe but this is only my desktop with a backup of all important stuff on my server b/c I know the risks of RAID0.
Thank You in advance,
-Kamil
