raid configuration

Hi ,

I am using linux rhel3.After configuring raid 5 in my desktop I stopped it and configured raid 4.I copied the raid4.conf.sample file and edited that file as per need.I used the same 3 disks which i used for raid 5.Started the raid 4. But when i did the cat /proc/mdstat it was showing that raid 5 is running.I repeated this configuration but the result was same. Can anyone tell me why it happened.
