questions regarding multiple distros and partitions

im trying to put slackware and another distro...either mint or debian wheezy on my little acer netbook (1.6 atom 2gb ram, 500gb hdd) im installing slackware first and am using cfdisk to create partitions...does it matter what order you create your partitions. if i put a 4gb swap and then create a 20gb and a 10gb for root...does it matter what order they in?

It doesn't really matter, as long as you remember that you may have a limit on the number of ACTUAL partitions you have on the drive. In many cases, you have to make three normal partitions, and one more logical or extended partition. This extended partition can contain any number of logical or pseudo-partitions. Also, the boot code often must be in the first several sectors of the disk so the bios can find it.

Note that I haven't messed with this for a long time...not since I discovered virtual machines and the joy they bring, so my information is probably outdated by a long way.

Good luck!
