Questions of Installation

Just install redhat enterprise 5.0,
During installation using custom layout...
create sda1,sda2,sda3, and then create one more partition ,
system just give it sda5
after that, create 2 more partitions for software RAID (RAID 1).
I found system change the previous partition from sda5 to sda7,
and give the 2 partitions (for software RAID) sda5 and sda6,
1.Anyone know why system change the partition number?
2.After install and reboot, when I log in and type in
fdisk -l, it mentioned /etc/md0 (software RAID) no valid partition table.
Why get this error?

thx in advance

fdisk won't probably deal with your md devices, you gotta use mdadm for that.

And something about sda5 I'd say, Its now logical partition. sda4 is your extended partition and all logical partitions stay beside it. If you del your sda4, everything after it will be gone...

n03x3c,thx for your reply
Actually I don't mind it's sda5 or sda6 or what ever.
I just wonder when in the RHCE test, if they ask you create sda5 for /var, but you did sda6 for /var,is it really matter?
