ok well 1st
when running quake3 and xmms at the same time quake3 will just hang untill i kill xmms.. if i run xmms and aim for example i lose sound on either or applications... it seems only 1 program can use the sound system at once.. anyway to fix this for example id really like to be able to use teamsound and play quake3 at the sametime

2nd question
i figured there might be some wine users here so hopfully i can get this solved since nobody will help me anywere else...
ok im trying to play cstrike and when i lauch HL and it asks me for my cdkey i cant put it in couse the keyboard wont respond in the program being ran by wine.. mouse works fine though


3rd question
what would be one of the easier api's(i guess this it what it would be called ) to learn for making some gui programs in C...

also.. how would i retreive info like system uptime... is there a command or is there a file or anything like that

hmmm...don't know about the first three issues but I think the command 'uptime' is what you need.

thanks crashed... seemed kinda to easy so i never even tryed it i thought the way ppl allways got it was in a file somewere it stored the date of boot.. then they just did the math
