Question Question Regarding the Darwin and Aqua Source code

I realize that most people dont install linux for a fancy gui but for me I like the idea of having so much control in what I can change as far as how RH looks and operates.

I was telling a friend of mine who owns a mac running OS X that i really like the way his icons form a wav at the bottom when he drags his mouse over them. then he turned me on to this site mac has that gives you the source for the Aqua desktop.

My question is this, for me to have such a thing on RHv9 am I in over my head? has anyone done it before? could be a way for me to learn how to do some major configuring and maybe learn a little about coding.

I appreciate any light any of you can shine on this for me.
