Question on using crossover and question on finding repositories

Hi all,

I am new to Linux, and really liking it so far. I have been able to figure most things out that I need to so far, but I have two questions right now:

1. I installed a trial version of crossover, then msoffice 2000. When I try to use anything in office it freezes. What are the ram requirements to run this? I realize it could be many things, but my machine is slow....

2. Can anyone give me any good respositories for kde/kubuntu? I have enabled universe/multiverse already. Just looking for other possibilities. Also, any direct download sites with .deb files would be good too.

FYI - I am running kubuntu 6.06.1, kde 3.5, on a dell latitude c610, with 1G processor, but only 128 megs of ram. I expect to install more ram shortly (probably 512k to start).

Thank you!

http://www.getdeb.net/

You can just download the packages to your home directory and then install them like this:

sudo dpkg -i package.deb

For Linux + Crosover + MS Office 2K, extra RAM is definitely reqd, although I couldn't tell you how much.
Put as much as you can in.
